How Handwriting Changes with Age

As a person begins to learn how to write in a copy book style, the type taught in our schools. It is at this stage a conscious thought with little spontaneity.

The act of writing, once it is mastered in childhood becomes spontaneous. Much emphasis is laid on the subject matter as the the thought is being made visible on the lines of the paper. The style of writing is under the control of the muscles of the fingers, hand, arm, and the mind.

It is interesting to note that as we write during childhood, the font size tend to be bigger than what would be seen of our handwriting in about twelve years time. The middle zone which were bigger tend to be smaller as we welcome adulthood.

As we age, our writing tend to "grow old".The letters become disintegrated. The flow and fluidity in the writing is lost gradually. This may not be disassociated with the muscles and loss of grip at this age.Sometimes it could be associated with diseases accompanying old age.In most cases as we get closer to our grave, we tend to write like we did in childhood. It's a cycle that must be complete, though may not be easily noticed in some people.

Every thing in nature often go back to their native state, so is your handwriting.
